Originally from Minnesota, Julie Schmid found her passion for dance at a young age. She continued dancing through college at the University of Wisconsin -Madison where she ultimately received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. Upon graduation, Julie moved to Los Angeles where she was one of twenty dancers selected for a scholarship program at the prestigious EDGE Performing Arts Center. At EDGE she had the privilege of training with some of the industry's top choreographers. Some of her credits include commercials for Amazon Prime, Nissan, Travelzoo, Samsung, and Nature Made Vitamins, and appearances in the feature films La La Land, Ted 2, Gone with the Bullets, andthe upcoming musical reboot of the 80’s classic Valley Girl. She has danced for artists such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Walk the Moon, and Melissa Etheridge. Julie can also be seen dancing on The Middle, Disjointed, The Mindy Project, 90210, Switched at Birth, and Nickelodeon's Victorious. She continues to work professionally as a dancer and actress. As a teacher and choreographer,Julie’s energetic, hands-on approach creates a warm atmosphere where dancers can thrive. Her movement is rooted in classical technique with an emphasis on storytelling, self-expression, and personal style.
